Do a Serious Job; Make Serious Coin

Careers in the medical field can be some of the most emotionally rewarding jobs to have. Doctors are making lives better throughout the world every day with their work. Along with the emotional reward of being a doctor comes a more tangible one: Medical jobs pay well. In fact, next to careers in the engineering field, becoming a doctor is the most lucrative job choice to make. Some jobs in the field of medicine bring home more cheddar than others, though. The list that follows details the top-paying medical jobs.

* Surgeons: The high amount of precision and skill necessary to be a successful surgeon makes this medical job the top grossing. Neurosurgeons can rack up as much as $200,000 per year. Orthodontists and oral surgeons take the second-place slot with $185,000. You can’t become a high-paying surgeon without years of school and hospital experience, though.
* Anesthesiologists, gynecologists and other specialists: Few people realize the importance of anesthesiologists and the expertise needed to perform such a job. As for the other kinds of specialists, this includes dentists, pharmacists, pediatricians and psychiatrists, to name a few. These careers can expect to bring in salaries close to $150,000. Specialists are required to receive their bachelor’s degree, attend medical school, then spend time being educated in the area of specialty.
* Nurses: This career is one of the most competitive in the medical field, believe it or not. Depending on the nurse’s specialty and amount of education, they can make up to $100,00 a year. A regular registered nurse within a hospital setting will make more like $50,000, however.
* Therapists and technicians: Because they are so far removed from patient care, technicians make less money than doctors, around $57,000. Practitioners in the field of therapy — speech therapists and physical therapists — usually generate close to $75,000.

On top of appreciable salaries, careers in the medical field provide the employee with considerable job security. It’s not as if the need for doctors is getting any less; in fact, the population continues to grow and the demand for these types of jobs grows with it.
